Destination Unknown, Heerlen


During a residency at Destination Unknown in Heerlen,
Siem had the opportunity to work in the former head office of the Dutch Mining Company (DSM).
Over two months, Siem created a new site-specific work consisting of an archive and a short film, inspired by the office environment. Through various alterations, Siem sought to engage with the space, leaving traces of a temporary office. While exploring the building's darkness, she encountered a bat—a fleeting interaction that left an immaterial mark on her, a lasting impression beyond the moment. Driven by this encounter, she made evidence of its existence.
