An Unidentified Beautiful Object (U.B.O.) Walk is organised to observe and engage with the urban environment.
Along the way, we collect physical objects. At the end of the walk, we gather to share our findings.
We wash them, create combinations and reflect on their being.
This zine is a documentation of a participatory walk, organised by Siem during Juxtapose Art Fair, under invitation of the Ijskast.
Photography by Jake Gatehouse
Graphic design by Jan van der Kleijn
Supported by Centrum Beeldende Kunst R'dam and Stroom Den Haag

I am a research-based photographer with an interest in exploring the relationship between objects, using photography as a tool to document and reflect. My projects often start with finding something by chance, whether it is a person, an object or a story. By frequenting archives, letter writing, and folder building, I am seeking and collecting connections to what surrounds me - most of it never quite mine to begin with, but stumbled upon, inherited, kept.
